Favorite Workout: Aby enjoys any workout that is intense and over quickly, with Fran being a favorite due to its combination of lightweight barbell work and pull-ups.

Community Contribution: Aby’s goal is to contribute to the success of others by providing clarity and support, ensuring they reach their fitness goals efficiently and effectively.

    Aby Thomas is a CrossFit coach and father of four, who discovered his passion for fitness at Trident Athletics over a decade ago. With a background in engineering, Aby is dedicated to building trust and helping athletes achieve their goals through clear communication and evidence-based coaching.

    Turning Point

    Aby’s journey into fitness began later in life, as he spent his early years focused on drawing and avoiding physical activities. However, that all changed when he walked into Trident Athletics 12 years ago and became hooked on CrossFit. As a father of four active children, Aby realized the importance of staying fit and being ready for anything life throws his way.

    Motivation & Passion

    Aby is motivated by a desire to build trust within his community through open communication and active listening. His engineering background influences his approach to coaching, where he focuses on clarity and objective, evidence-based methods to help athletes achieve their fitness goals. Aby finds joy in connecting with people and contributing to their success, whether in the gym or in their daily lives.

    Favorite workout: I like anything that is over within 6 minutes,anything longer than that and you’ll hear me complaining.  I like Fran -combination of lightweight barbell and pull-ups allows you to push yourself andthe best part is that it’s over in 6 minutes!  

     

    Advice: Wake up early and come to the 0515 or 0615 class; we’lltake care of the rest and you’ll still have your whole day ahead of you!

     

    When not working out: I split my time between manufacturingfreedom for the U.S. Navy submarine service and hanging out local playgroundswith my children.
